Dog in Distress Receives Urgent Care Close to Home

One Saturday evening, Brook Farm received an emergency call from Mrs. DePalma, whose dog had managed to get his peanut-filled marrow bone stuck over their jaw. We instructed her to come in right away.

Our Urgent Care team was ready to assist her within moments of their arrival. After a thorough evaluation, it was apparent that the dog was not only scared but also very distressed and uncomfortable. In no time at all, the medical team was able to evaluate the situation and provide Mrs. DePalma with a thorough treatment plan. For our experienced Urgent Care team, this was an easy task, and Dr. Clark was able to remove the bone within minutes, sending home a relieved family.

I called very late because my dog had a bone stuck around his lower jaw and they told me to come in right away. He gets very anxious going to the vet and they took him right away and I never once felt uncomfortable leaving him with them. They put him under light sedation and the bone was off in less than 10 minutes. I'm so thankful they got me in so quickly. - Angela DePalma

We hate to think what may have happened had our Urgent Care team not provided the immediate attention that the DePalma family required. Our late-night and weekend hours ensure that pets don't need to wait through the night or travel far to get the relief they need.
